Silver-plated baluster-shaped TEA-CAFE SERVICE with rich chased and engraved decoration including acanthus scrolls, lion-legged feet and pomegranate-shaped handle, including teapot, stove, coffee pot, sugar bowl and milk jug. Cyphered. Sterling hallmark on reverse, traces of hallmark. Swan hallmark (pieces probably stamped in error) on the underside of the coffee pot and probably on the upper rim of the milk jug. Probably English or American. Height 28 cm (teapot on stove, handle lowered) Weight : 4070 g (silvering missing on one teapot, bumps) A gilt-metal cake set with silver-plated handle is included.
